At Foster Packaging, we can now offer print runs on as little as 350kg of material - giving the benefit of high quality printing to the smaller user.

Using the lates Roto Gravure printing technology, we print in full high definition colour with up to a 9-colour print process with eiither a matt or gloss finish. We are also able to do a a matt/gloss combination, plus the option of newly developed pearlised inks to give your product a visual edge.

Gravure Printing:

Gravure printing is characteristically used for long run, high quality printing producing a sharp fine image.

The image is etched on the surface of a metal plate.

The etched area is filled with ink, then the plate is rotated on a cylinder that transfers the image onto the paper or other material.

Digital Printing - Indigo Digital Press

The technology used is based on HP ElectroInk, which uses small colour particles suspended in Imaging Oil (Isopar) that can be attracted or repelled by means of a voltage differential.

The ink forms a very thin and smooth plastic layer on the paper surface. The fact that these particles are so small ensures that the printed image does not mask the underlying surface roughness/gloss of the paper, as can be possible with some toner-based processes, bringing Indigo printing closer in appearance to conventional offset lithography, whereby Ink is actually absorbed into the paper.
